What To Expect

What To Expect During Your First Dental Visit

Our goal when you visit our office for the first time is to show you why we are a totally unique dental practice. We pride ourselves in making every experience in our office an amazing experience and we will make every effort to ensure you are comfortable with your new dental home. This is why we consider your first appointment to be very important to you, the patient, and our team, and we reserve a specific time just for you.

The visit begins with:

• A Tour of the office

• Dental and Medical History review with the Doctor

• Your Dental Desires and Goals will be discussed

• Blood Pressure Screening

• Comprehensive Oral Examination

• TMJ Evaluation

• Occlusal (bite) Evaluation

• Soft Tissue Examination

• Cancer Screening

• Dental Charting

• Periodontal Measurements

• Intra-Oral Video Tour of Your Mouth

• Digital X-Rays (film-less, lower radiation) as needed for diagnosis

We want to ensure all your questions and concerns have been answered and want you to know all the different treatments we offer in the practice. If you want your oral health the best it can be, we will give you all the tools and recommendations to make that happen. If you have been wondering how your smile could be improved with some cosmetic changes, this will be the perfect time to consider a smile rejuvenation.

At the conclusion of the first visit you should have an exceptionally good understanding of your current dental health. If your treatment is complex or has options to be discussed, we may ask you to schedule a second visit to just consult with the Doctor after he/she has had a chance to review all the findings from your exam visit and present you with your Personalized Dental Plan(s). This is part of your examination visit, there is NO additional fee for treatment planning.

Treatment needs, sequence and options will be reviewed. If there are choices in treatment paths, certain things you want to be addressed first and more, your decisions will be included, and treatment will be finalized. Your input is crucial for developing a plan that will work for you. Long term success requires your desire to be healthy and follow through to meet the goals that we set together.

We believe this will be the most thorough First Visit / Oral Examination you will ever have. This is more like a “Complete Physical of Your Mouth.” It will be the foundation to a good dental relationship that will allow you to achieve the best oral health possible, and with proper care, maintain that level of health for a lifetime.
