We realize you may have better things to do than visit your favorite Walnut Creek cosmetic dentist. No temporary dental crown or second dentist visit is required, and the aesthetics are beautiful when we create and place the crown in the same day at Walnut Creek Family & Cosmetic Dental.

Most dental restorative procedures require multiple trips to the dentist. Typically on the first visit, you get an injection of anesthesia, your tooth is prepared, an impression is taken with a large tray of thick material, and a temporary restoration is put on your tooth. By definition, that temporary restoration is… temporary. This provisional crown is not made to last, and sometimes it falls off or cracks in half before you come back for the permanent dental crown. A few weeks after the first visit, you come back to the dentist for a second appointment, have the temporary dental crown pried off, (if it’s still there), and finally get the final dental crown cemented into place. If that hand-made dental crown doesn’t fit well, you may get another temporary and repeat the process.
